About the workshop

After a decade of studying traditional methods of drawing in her Russian homeland, Maria has developed the technical expertise that allows her to combine knowledge of perspective, tonal values and precision of lines.

The first week will be a review of your skill levels, an introduction to materials and preparatory in nature. After that the workshop will help develop students technically with their projects. The class is limited to 8 students so everyone will receive personalised attention.

Who is this course suitable for?

Students who have some basic drawing experience and would like to refine their drawing skills with guidance. We welcome beginners and advance students.

What do I need to bring?


Please bring your lunch and snacks or you can purchase from cafes close by. We do have a fridge and microwave at the studio for your convenience.

What is provided?

About the Tutor

For Maria, nature is the greatest source of inspiration for her drawings which embellish and transform her subjects into exquisite recreations of reality.

Maria is passionate about sharing her knowledge with others and her students benefit from her in-depth understanding of traditional drawing techniques and what is needed to create a good drawing, as well as from her wealth of knowledge and great resources on artists, drawings and drawing materials – all of which she shares generously with her students.
