Portraits in Acrylics | Barry & Lucy McCann

Portraits in Acrylics | Barry & Lucy McCann

About this workshop

Acrylics are not usually associated with representational art because of the speed in which they dry. Learn how we control the drying time of the paint to not only obtain an oil-like look to his work but a likeness of the subject. The workshop will cover such topics as drawing for a painting, the application of paint and colour mixing.

What will I learn?

This workshop would cover one exercise and we would include our method of drawing (creating a likeness), colour mixing (skin tones) and how to make an acrylic painting look oil-like.

Who is this workshop suitable for?

Beginners to advance as long as they have some experience with drawing OR drawing skills would be an advantage.

What do I need to bring?

Please bring your lunch and snacks or you can purchase from cafes close by. We do have a fridge and microwave at the studio for your convenience.

What is provided?

• tea, coffee and biscuits
• a friendly, supportive and encouraging learning environment
• connection to the Brisbane Painting Classes art community
