About the workshop

Designed for the absolute beginner, this full-day workshop in Landsborough on the Sunshine Coast will introduce you to the wonderful world of watercolour painting! 

Jan will guide you step-by-step with learning all the basics you’ll need to create simple paintings of beautiful flowers. No drawing skills are required as references will be provided to transfer. 

Learn from an expert the methods of not only how to use watercolours correctly, but exactly what to avoid and how to fix mistakes. 

Have an amazing day where all the materials are supplied, accomplishing paintings that you didn’t think were possible!

Who is this workshop suitable for?

Although this workshop is designed for beginners in watercolour, the more experienced are also welcome to learn skills specific to painting floral subjects.

What do I need to bring?

Use of all painting materials will be available.

Bienarté will be providing:

·     Saunders Waterford 300gsm paper (medium)
·     Professional quality artists' watercolour paints
·     Mixing palette
·     Water containers
·     Transfer paper
·     Cloth for wiping brushes
·     Pipettes
·     Masking tape
·     White board
·     Wooden block
·     Pencils
·     Kneadable eraser
·     Watercolour brushes

Please bring your lunch and snacks or you can purchase from shops close by.

About the Tutor

Jan Lawnikanis has been teaching art classes consistently for almost 30 years and tutored over 200 workshops in a variety of media. Students have praised Jan for her teaching skills and preparation which has gained her an excellent reputation with all ages.

Jan has been the featured artist in Australian Artist Magazine, with 5 full-length articles on using coloured pencils. Other publications include the Paradise Magazine-GC Bulletin, Art Newsflash, the International Watercolour Institute catalogue, the Coloured Pencil Magazine, the Australian Coloured Pencil Network, Art Edit magazine and Artwise textbook for the Australian Curriculum.

Her award-winning artworks hang in many private and corporate collections.
