Learning Pathways - Drawing and Painting with Pastel

Marcel has designed learning pathways to give students structure as they develop from novice to advanced artist.
If you have limited or no experience with Pastel, then we recommend you start with Tricia Taylor who will help you learn the basics of Pastel painting in a friendly and supportive environment.
Once you have built your confidence with Pastel, it's time to develop and broaden your skills with a weekend workshop run by a guest artist, covering a range of subjects.
Over the course of the weekend, we will look at brief theory of design, particularly for collage; how pastel can be used as a wet medium as well as dry. Tricia’s teaching process includes theory, handouts and demonstrations. What will I learn? Pastel techniques especially stroke-making and brief colour theory.
